Passion to Fitness Newsletter
The warm weather is almost here and Spring session has started. Thank you everyone that has continued renewing their membership to support our studio each session.
We would like to welcome new members to our Passion to Fitness family for this Spring session! We are super excited for our competitive team to be able to compete this season! Their 1st competition will be on May 29,2022. Go Team Passion! We are very proud of all of our athletes achievements this season. Please follow us on Instagram or Facebook to see for yourself.
Below is a summary of the changes related to COVID-19 effective Monday, March 21, 2022 in Hamilton.
We will follow the guidance from the Province. Wearing masks to gymnastics for Gymnasts and Parents will no longer be mandatory.
Passion to Fitness Staff will still be required to wear a mask while onsite for at least two more weeks (April 4th) at which time this rule will be reevaluated.
People are welcome to continue to mask if that’s what they choose. We would like to remind everyone that Canada’s Top Doctors recommend the wearing of masks to protect against increased transmission and any new variants.
ONLINE HEALTH SCREENING:
We will continue to complete the Health Screening for Gymnasts and Staff online. We have found this requirement to be beneficial in many ways, and will continue to use it well beyond all COVID restrictions being lifted. It is important that people actively think about whether or not they are healthy enough to participate in physical activity or come into work.
Our Viewing Area is Completely Open. Please keep in mind our Viewing Area is small. Please try to keep the number of Parents down to one per gymnast.

Passion to Fitness Management
All participants must complete the covid screening every time they attend a class https://docs.google.com/
At this time, we are unable to accommodate parent viewing for all classes. Parents are asked to drop their child off no more than 10 minutes before their scheduled class time. Children 5 years and older need to enter and exit the gym without assistance from an adult/care-giver.
Anyone entering the building must be wearing a mask. Gymnasts must wear their masks in the waiting area and while using the washroom. We strongly recommend athletes wear their masks for the entirety of their gym visit but guidelines allow for masks to be removed during physical activity. Coaches will be wearing their masks.....(when they are less than 2 meters, always,).
The gym has been marked with distanced spots for students to stand when waiting their turn for an apparatus.
When picking up your child, please wait at the entrance for them. Please note there may be a small wait as we deal with occupancy limits. A coach will direct them to you. Thank you for your patience.
To our valued gymnastics families,
Starting September 22nd by order of the Government of Ontario, proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for those aged 18+ is required to access certain events, services, and businesses including restaurants, gyms, and fitness/sporting/recreational facilities. Regardless of our stance on the issue, as a recreational facility we must comply with any applicable municipal by-laws, section 22 orders, and any other applicable instructions, policies or guidelines issued by the Government of Ontario in order to keep our doors open.
As outlined in the Proof of Vaccination Guidance for Businesses and Organizations under the Reopening Ontario Act, exemptions are to be made for:
Those under 18 years of age
Those who provide a written note from a physician (designated as “MD”) stating that the individual is exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated
Those entering the facility (masked) to drop off gymnast, pay, use the washroom, purchase merchandise, pick up gymnast, or "as may be necessary for the purposes of health and safety”
Staff, coaches, or those that volunteer in building
As of September 22nd, we are required to check two documents when you visit and stay in the studio:
1 Proof of full vaccination with final dose at least 14 days before providing proof (paper or digital copy which can be found here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/ )
2 Valid government ID - driver’s license or health card is preferred
Upon providing this information, we will ask if you are OK with us recording that your proof of vaccination has been checked. If you do not wish to have this information stored in our system, you will be required to show your proof of vaccination and ID before each visit.
If you have concerns with the new public health order, we encourage you to voice those concerns directly to the Ministry of Health here.
We will continue to update you all as more information is available to us. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
